It looks like the .hack series is getting a reboot. CyberConnect2 has announced a new game in the franchise, .hack//ZERO, which will supposedly feature a greater emphasis on the “Real World”, while still featuring the classic MMORPG “The World” in its gameplay.
This year marks CyberConnect2’s 30th anniversary, the last .hack game released in 2017, so it’s been a long wait for fans of the series to receive a new game.
We still don’t have a release date or any platforms listed, but as previous games in the franchise have released on Nintendo Switch, there’s a good chance this one will too. .hack’s 25th anniversary is next year, so that seems like a good year to release this new title in the franchise, also.
