Pokémon Pokopia launches in just a couple of weeks, on March 5th, and the game’s director, Takuto Edagawa, has gradually been sharing details about the game, including the 20-40 hour estimated playtime.
Well, in an interview with Famitsu, Edagawa expanded upon the game’s multiplayer modes, where players can either opt to join a “host’s” island and help them progress the storyline, or you can create a blank, more sandbox-like island, where you can focus on creating your ideal island with friends.

Interestingly, even if a host isn’t online, players can still visit and play on the island thanks to the game’s server system, so you don’t have to worry if you live on separate sides of the world and can’t play at the same time, you’ll still be able to work together, albeit asynchronously.
The game will support Local Wireless Play, Online Play, and GameShare play. Although we’re not sure if the GameShare mode will have any limitations, as is sometimes the case.
Will you be picking up Pokemon Pokopia when it launches March 5th on Nintendo Switch 2? It’s available to pre-order now for $69.99
