The Rogue Prince of Persia Gets an Update Roadmap

The well-received platforming roguelike The Rogue Prince of Persia looks to be getting even better this year, as developer Evil Empire has released its roadmap for the next few months of updates.

These seem to be pretty hefty updates, so let’s break down the keypoints.

In April 2026, the dev team plans on adding a Freeze element to the game, Arenas, more difficulty options, affixes for weapons and tools, and faster pacing to the game, as well as reworking the tutorial.

In May 2026, there are plans for a risk vs. reward-based challenge system, a parkour mode, daily challenges, a rework of the palace biome, and possibly pets being added to the game.

It feels unusual for 2 large updates like this to launch this close together, but we aren’t complaining!

The Rogue Prince of Persia is available now on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 for $29.99, although the game is 33% off until February 20th.
